NATURAL PLEASURE DIVISION

Over 2,000 years ago, one of the first great riding masters was a man named Xenophon.  He said that communication is the key to horsemanship.  Learning to communicate with your horse is vital if the two of you are to be on the same track as partners. The dynamics relating to modern natural horsemanship can be obtained through communication, understanding, and psychology.  Horses must be ridden in a rope halter with one or two reins, or with a soft rope around the neck. Clips with metal may be used to attach reins or ropes to halter. Saddles are optional and may be English, Western, Buena Vista, or Australian either with or without a horn .  IJA V112

Equistar hopes to develop a forum for those who achieved a level of communication with their horse through Natural Horsemanship methods.  We begin with Natural "Pleasure" classes which will consist of work on the rail and maneuvers called by the judge.  Individual work will not be included unless specifically called by the judge.  Judging  will be based on ground manners and maneuverability, unison between horse and rider, and overall harmony and partnership between the horse and rider.  Horses in this division should be well groomed and display the natural beauty of the breed.  They must be keg shod or barefoot.  PLEASE CONTACT US IF YOU WOULD LIKE THESE CLASSES ADDED AT FUTURE SHOW DATES!
